Description
This absorbing collection of sea glass on reclaimed wood wall hangings capture the ever-changing environments of the sea glass’s journey. Much like the seasons and associated weather the elements of the sea are forever shifting. Resemblant to our Scottish weather, the ice-cold northern sea, the ebbing and flowing tides, the smooth ripples of a gentle wave or the turbulence of strong ocean currents, the environmental journey sea glass faces to become smooth, perfect sea jewels we collect on the shoreline, is ever changing. It requires all seasons to create Scotland’s beautiful landscapes and it takes all oceanic and coastal aspects to create what once was litter into something to be treasured.
Using glass collected from Scotland’s beautiful beaches this collection of simple yet stimulating wall hangings aim to capture through sea glass colours and shapes a representation of the changing and ever interesting seasons we enjoy in Scotland coupled with the wonder of the sea glass’s journey itself.
Each wall hanging is made from a selection of Scottish Sea Glass and reclaimed wood. It measures approx. 15cm x 20 cm x 2cm (other sizes available on request). The wall hangings have two hooks on the reverse allowing it to be hung horizontally or vertically. The carefully selected sea glass has been coated with a glaze which accentuates its beauty against the natural wood backdrop.
